Questions about cardiology
General information only. Your treating specialist advises on your own case.
Do I need an angiogram before I travel?
Not always. If you already have one, the cardiac surgeon can often plan from your report and images. If not, the hospital may do it after you arrive, which adds a few days to your stay.
How soon can I fly home after bypass surgery?
Most surgeons ask patients to stay in India for two to three weeks after bypass surgery so wounds can be checked before a long flight. Your surgeon decides the date based on your recovery.
Can a family member stay with me in hospital?
Most hospitals allow one attendant in the patient's room. Your companion can apply for an e-Medical Attendant visa linked to your visa.
